Mosaic Community Church- OKC - LGBTQ+ & the UMC

In 2023, Mosaic disaffiliated from the United Methodist denomination and joined the United Church of Christ. One of the first acts of Mosaic was to identity with the Open and Affirming Coalition of the UCC. The Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ advocates for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, and equips UCC congregations to become effective witnesses to Christ’s extravagant welcome.

Historically, Mosaic stood in opposition to the discriminatory policies and practices of the United Methodist Church in regards to our siblings who are gay, transgender, bisexual, or queer. Through our involvement with the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN), we sought to change the policies and practices of the UMC. We continue to support the work of RMN.
